Expertise:

Vinyasa allows for creativity while being accessible, as each pose can look different for everyone. Yin offers the opportunity to find depth, while being meditative and still to produce feelings of deeper relaxation and calm. Using Sanskrit in relation to asanas throughout practice can provide more meaning and energy.

Experience:

I have always loved doing yoga, pilates, and body weight training. I decided to take a YTT because I wanted a deeper understanding of the history of yoga, lineages of yoga, asanas, Sanskrit, etc. There is so much you learn in a YTT that goes beyond yoga that you can use in everyday life.

Why Yoga?

Yoga has always been something I have always enjoyed and helps me to relax. Connecting breath to movement can be more challenging than it seems. (If someone isn’t reminding me to breathe throughout practice, I might forget!)

What inspires you about the HOY community?

The people and community.

Why do you Teach?

It is empowering to lead others through a physical practice to find a connection linking breath to movement. As well as the opportunity to weave educational and meditative pieces into a class for students to reflect upon and take with them.

What fires me up off the mat?

Friends, family, the beach, traveling, and new experiences.
