Megan Woodland Hewitt
Expertise: I offer traditional hatha yoga mixed with a little vinyasa flow and other modalities I enjoy and incorporate, such as kundalini yoga, Qi Gong, and Reiki, that is suitable for all levels and takes my students into a deep and spiritual experience that is creatively inspiring, relaxing and healing.
Experience: 200 hour RYT focusing on traditional hatha yoga, yoga philosophy, and sound healing/chant. I have taught for almost a decade and over 1,000 classes and am working on completing my 500 hour certification.
I broke my back when I was 14 and yoga was one of the things that helped me heal and then led me onto a path of compassion and awareness. I love the way moving my body and also practicing different aspects of yoga - devotion, meditation, chant, study, etc - bring me to such a space of peace and connection. It is a physical and spiritual practice that just really clicks for me.
What Inspires You About the HOY Community?
The amazing excitement and inspiration of the teachers and the students. The beautiful family-like community of kind and lit-up people.
Why Do You Teach?
I like to pass the torch of what I've been offered through yoga-it has literally helped save my life many times. I deeply enjoy the beautiful, sacred space created during class and I learn so much from teaching and from my students. It also keeps me on top of my own practice!
What Fires You Up Off The Mat?
Creating music and supporting other peoples' dreams, travel, animals, art, and vegan food :)
